Collection: Zoroaster — Prophet of Sacred Fire

He taught that the universe is a battleground between Ahura Mazda — the Wise Lord of light and truth — and Angra Mainyu, the force of darkness and lies. He taught that every human soul chooses between good and evil with free will, and that the choices made in this life determine the fate of the soul after death. These ideas — the cosmic battle, the immortal soul, the final judgment — entered Judaism during the Babylonian exile, then Christianity, then Islam. The three religions that shaped the modern world were all downstream of Zoroaster's revelation in the Iranian plateau, three thousand years ago.

These signs carry the sacred fire, the Faravahar, the light of Ahura Mazda, and the flame that still burns in Zoroastrian temples today.
