Collection: Veles — God of the Underworld

He rules the roots of Yggdrasil's Slavic equivalent — the world below, where the dead go, where cattle are kept, where serpents live, where music and poetry and magic originate. Veles is the god of merchants, herdsmen, musicians, and the dead. He is shapeshifter, trickster, eternal opponent of Perun. While Perun governs the sky world with law and lightning, Veles governs the underworld with wisdom and cunning. The Slavic cosmos requires both. The tension between them — sky and underground, law and magic, thunder and serpent — is what holds the world together.

These signs carry the serpent, the cow skull, the musical instrument, and the roots of the world that Veles eternally tends.
