Collection: Uluru — The Sacred Heart of Australia
It rises 348 meters from the flat red plain, changes color from red to purple to gold as the sun moves, and contains within its surface and caves some of the most sacred sites in Anangu spiritual law. The Tjukurpa — the law, the Dreamtime, the instruction manual for living in this landscape — is encoded in every feature of Uluru. Each cave, each waterhole, each marking on the rock corresponds to a story in the Tjukurpa that Anangu elders have transmitted across at least 65,000 years. When tourists were permitted to climb Uluru, the Anangu asked them not to. The Australian government eventually closed the climb in 2019. The rock, at last, belongs to the people who have always known what it is.
These signs carry Uluru at sunset, the Tjukurpa story paintings, the Anangu footprint, and the red center that has been sacred longer than any temple on earth.
