Perun — God of Thunder and War

He rides across the sky in a flaming chariot, throwing lightning bolts at his eternal enemy Veles — the serpent god who steals his cattle, kidnaps his wife, or simply represents the chaos that Perun must constantly fight to keep the world in order. Perun is the thunder god of the Slavic world, counterpart to Zeus and Thor and Indra, the divine force that asserts cosmic order against the chaos of the underworld. The oak tree is sacred to him. The axe is his weapon. And every thunderstorm is another episode in a battle that has been going on since before the world was made.

These signs carry the Perun's axe, the oak, the thundermark, and the eternal lightning that separates sky from earth.
