Lakshmi — Goddess of Prosperity

She rose from the churning of the cosmic ocean, standing on a lotus, gold coins pouring from her hands, two white elephants showering her with water — the most auspicious sight in Vedic cosmology. Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth, fortune, beauty, grace, and abundance, and she is the consort of Vishnu — which means wherever prosperity goes, the preserver follows. Diwali, the festival of lights, celebrates her annual visit to human homes. Families clean their houses, light diyas, and leave windows open so she can enter. She rewards those who are prepared to receive her. She passes by those who are not.

These signs carry the lotus throne, the golden coins, the owl of night wisdom, and the four hands of Lakshmi bestowing all four goals of human life.
