Collection: Kolovrat — The Slavic Sun Wheel
The Kolovrat — the spinning wheel symbol of the Slavic sun — is one of the oldest symbols in human history, found carved into objects across pre-Christian Eastern Europe. Its bent spokes suggest rotation, movement, the turning of seasons, the cycle of death and rebirth that the sun enacts every year. It was the sacred symbol of the Slavic sun god Svarog and his fire-son Svarogich. When Christian missionaries arrived and prohibited pagan symbols, the Kolovrat went underground into folk embroidery, architectural ornament, and carved household items — where it remained for a thousand years, waiting to be remembered.
These signs carry the Kolovrat in its ancient form — the spinning sun wheel that predates every empire that tried to replace it.
