Cernunnos — Lord of Wild Things

He sits cross-legged in the forest, antlers rising from his head, a torque of gold around his neck, surrounded by animals who do not flee from him. Cernunnos is the oldest deity in the Celtic world — so old that we do not know his original name with certainty. He is the Lord of Wild Things, the god of the hunt, of fertility, of the untamed natural world that existed before walls and roads and kingdoms. He is what remains when civilization goes quiet.
