Anubis — God of the Dead

Before judgment. Before the scales. Before the feather of Ma'at is weighed against the heart — Anubis stands at the threshold. The jackal-headed god of embalming and the dead was not a figure of fear in ancient Egypt. He was a protector. He guided souls through the Duat, prepared the body for eternity, and ensured that the dead reached their final rest with dignity.

These signs carry the jackal, the scales, the crook and flail — the symbols of the guardian at the gate.
